Coretta Scott King Young Womens Leadership Academy Reviews

This School/ Community is very lucky to have have Ms. Melody Morgan as their prinicpal. Not only is she bright, dedicated and enegertic. She has touched a lot lives in her career including mine. She was an administrator in the Bronx when I was in middle school. She also was the the Administrator who gave my first chance at teaching and I have being that ever since. She has always done well in tough enviornments. I can vouch for that!

i think this is a good school all the students are very respectful they listen and are very intelligent

I too was excited when I enrolled my child into this school but was quickly disappointed with administrators and lack of communication skills. There is suppose to be field trips on Fridays but instead they release the girls early inconveniencing parents with no after school program. My daughter informs me that there are daily fights amongst some clicks of girls and there are always problems. It is my understanding that there are problems all across the board. I agree with the post that was posted on 1/23 that relocating your child is the best thing and reconsider this school down the road at a later time when they move the school to its new location.

At first I was excited for my child to attend this school, but after numerous attempts to have general questions answered I have little faith. When you are a new parent/ student all of your questions should be ansewerd as soon as possible. There is a definate lack of structure for these young women who are going to be tommorrows leaders in the classroom as well. I do understand that they are trying to make it better for this area and I'm sure they have made great strides but they still have a long way to go. I am relocating my child and I suggest that you thouroghly do your research. I believe once they get up and running, they may be a school to take a second look at, but for now find some where else.

The Principal is the smartest person I have met since she started school six years ago. I am a teacher and boy do she know her stuff. A little rigid at times but it is needed for this chool and this environment. A lot of people dont like the fact that she is from New York but who cares, she is bright. I wish she can go to Douglass High School when my child leaves her school. I think She is a little overworked . She is the best principal in this side of town. Finally we are getting quality, a little late but glad to have her.

i think coretta scott should have more parent metting and parent particapation
