Eldridge L. Miller Elementary School Reviews

My son Elijah improves with every year he attends E.L Miller. His CRCT scores are great. The teachers push and push him to achieve his best and more. The teachers keep in contact with me and I can always talk to them at anytime. If your child gets Mrs Maultsby, Mrs S Johnson, Mrs PJohnson Mrs Lane, Mrs Gandy, Coach Cabbil, Coach Leonard or Mrs Taylor or Mrs Hunt their in good hands.

The 1st Grade Teachers are Awesome, especially Mrs. Woods, she really has a heart for the children. The Pre-K Staff at E.L. Miller and Excellent.

I am a former E.L. Miller student. I am currently an eigth grade student at Redan Middle School. I must say that E.L. Miller has an outstanding group of teachers and staff. I attended this school from kindergarten until fifth grade and it prepared me very well for the school I currently attend. I am an honor student and I am gifted as well as a high acheiver. E.L. Miller is a close knit family and if you start there young you surely will get to know everyone. Mrs. Speer is a great principal and regardless of what anyone says she is the glue that holds that school together. I will never forget the teachers at this school because they truly had a passion for teaching.

My son attended EL Miller for seven years and scored high on standard exams and has learned alot. He felt as if he was part of a family and not just another number. My daughter is there and is doing well academically in class and on exams. Teachers at EL Miller care about the students success academically and emotionally. Parent involvement is very low. Teachers have to do a lot for themselves. I think that hurts the student and the teacher. That may be the reason that there is not a lot of extracurricular activies available. The professionalism is very high. Mrs. Spears is very strict when it comes to policies. She is not going to allow anyone to run over her. If parents would spend a few minutes getting to know her, they would understand that her entire adult life has been dedicated to educating children.

I must say that since my two sons have been at E.L. Miller for the past two years, I have seen a tremendous interest in their learning abilities. Both of their teachers have been outstanding in assisting with their confidence in wanting to be high achievers and excell in all they do. Thanks to the administation for the open-door policy that I have taken advantage of in being able to be apart of the classroom setting. I am also looking forward to my toddler starting school at E.L. Miller with his older siblings in the near future and being apart of his higher learning experience. My challenge to all of us as parents, let's be apart of our kids lives and education so that they can make positive decisions and be the best in whatever they do. Thanks, a concerned parent who love children. Mrs. S.M.

To say that I do not care for E.L. Miller is putting it lightly. The administration is completely unprofessional. There are some good teachers at the school and I put the emphasis on some. I pulled my son from that school after seeing my son go from a extrovert who loved school to a child who did just enough to get by. If you have the opportunity, do not send your child there. If you are an involved parent, they treat you as if your involvement is abnormal. The parent/teacher/administration relationship is not valued at E.L. Miller.

E.L. Miller is a fine school, I find that the teachers are willing to work with the parents and sometimes it's the parents that don't want to cooperate and the students take advantage of that. I have spent numerous hours in the class room and find that if the student is willing the teaching is there. Parents need to wake up and attend the PTA meetings and add their suggestions. Also the parents need to show up to the class room of their child and see just how the child is conducting him or herself. Be alert parents and also check what your child brings to school and what they're wearing. Make sure they do their homework. The teacher is not the parent you know.

Elridge L. Miller Elementary School has been a 'big disappointment' to my family. I've seen little to no growth within my children. The teachers, in my opinion are self centered and children are not the main priority. In addition, the administration is extremely unprofessional. I must also state that parental involvement is completly lacking at E.L Miller Elementary. P.T.A meetings are a waste of time and to put it simple, the entire staff needs revamping.
