This is my second year to be involved. The teachers and staff are uniquely committed to this school. The principal is incredible. She is extremely smart, amiable, and motivates the staff so well! There are many alumni that teach there and love the school and the kids. The parental involvement is [between] 10-20%. A lot the the parental involvement is behind the scenes and not in the typical parental orginizations. The kids are just as well behaved as any other elementary school in the area. When there is a problem the principal does not help you to solve it, she should not be in that position she should leave it to someone who really cares for the children. I did not like the way the principal or second teacher handled my child. The principal was not concerned. I would not let her attend for 2004/2005 school year. I am a concerned parent i do not see any growth potential at the school for majority children. No afterschool program, no enrichment activities, a diversified student body that is not celebrated, major discipline problems,and my child learned hardly any science or social studies lessons! Worst of all, there are many teachers who do not care about their students achievement. It is very sad.”
