Pebblebrook High School Reviews

I am currently a sophomore at Pebblebrook. I am in the performing arts program, also. This school has improved mejorly from what it used to be not only with it's acedemics and students but also teachers and many other things. Our new principal is really an addition to our shcool. she's strict and things here have never been better. A lot of other schools look at pebblebrook as the 'poor and lame' school. However, we are working towards setting a better image for ourselves. Our new principal is doing a good job in trying to raise student spirit. And what can our teachers do when the students are the ones not trying? Our performing arts program is amazing, with the exception of a few privacy invading rules (which my parents love). However, our sports department is lacking in variation and talent. (But we did just win our first game).

My daughter goes here and I do not like it. The moral is low and the students are not motivated to succeed. The extracurricular activities leave a lot to be desired as well as the staff. Bottom line, I am not impressed.

This school is amazing has great programs to keep kids out ogf trouble amazing food and awesome teachers and staff!

I just graduated from Pebblebrook this last May (class of 2009). I had the opportunity to attend PHS for almost four years, and i can say the school has made an extremly huge change! five years ago it was the worst school of cobb county! and they might not be the best now, but i am 100% sure they have impprove in every single little way you want to look at it. Now, PHS is not only recognized for its PA program, but for its academic levels and sports too! Some teacher left, but some more came. Ms. Montgomery (principal) i think she has given all she has to help pebblebrook succed and bring up its reputation. The addministration is excellent now, and the students are very diverse and have learned how to respect and be part of their school. The words 'School Spirit' actually form part of Pebblebrook's vocabulary now!The-BROOK-is-BACK!!

I am a recent alumni of PHS and I loved it. The majority of the teachers genuinely care about their students. The CCCEPA program is one of the best performing arts programs in the nation. PA parents are HIGHLY involved in their student's activities, and the students have a lot of school spirit. I think Pebblebrook is continually growing and improving, and I can not wait to visit to see how things improve in the years to come.

I moved my daughter from a school in Douglas county where they said the education was better, but Cobb schools are terrific. My daughter is always pushed to exceed. The teachers notify of any changes. She loves the ROTC program there she has gotten more into volunteering because of it. She is not just making the grade she is actually having to work for it, so I know that she is learning. Love this school!

Pebblebrook is an amazing school!! Im am a currently attending PHS and am in the PA program!! I encourage anyone who would like a cereer in PA to audition for this school. I am sooo excited to be attending PHS and its has been my dream to since 6th grade. The audition to get in is not as scary as others make it out to be. It will go great if you go in prepared and perform well. It might also be hard to get your parents to agree for yu to audition but never give up. I spent 2 and a half years convincing my parents to let me attend even though they did not want me to go to a school so far away thats not the best when it comes to discipline. my parents eventually caved in so never give up and be ready to work hard!!

I am a student at pebblebrook and honestly I think that pebblebrook is a good school. It has progressed alot from recent years going through new constuction and improvements. The teachers are great and caring and the administration staff is executing drastic disiplinary measures to prevent school fights.

I am a freshman at pebblebrook and i can honestly say that it is a very good school. The teachers at pebblebrook are very good; they actually care about the student. Teachers at pebblebrook try really hard to see students succeed such as my favorite teacher Mr.Craig Denison he is hands on and will work with you until ou get it. I'll actually be withdrawing from the school tomorrow(sad to say) due toreasons at home but I promised myself I will be back my sophmore year. The new Principal Ms.Regina Montgomery is very good; she really has made a difference at the school. Class of 2009!

I feel that pebblebrook is a excellent school. Pebblebrook offers alot and I recommend it to anyone.

I'm one of the parents that took my child out of this school, she is now at Lassister High and she really loves the fact that the school don't have to worry as much about fights(0 last year),clothes issues(next they won't be able to show their neck). it's sad that in 2005 we as a people is keeping our children so far behind the rest of the WORLD for such petty things-Good luck to you all, but I already fought this fight long time ago. Hopefully the new principal will change things around M.Williams

My daughter entered the Performing Arts program since the 9th grade and she had quit in her 11th grade because the program caters more to caucasion students. Take a look at the demographics the school is predominantly Black and the few caucasions are attending for the performing Arts. The new Principal a native of S.C. prayerfully will make a difference because there is a negative stigma on the school at Large with the exception of the Performing Arts and Sports. The Performing Arts need to get more Black Plays so that Black Students have a fair chance during auditions. The staff that work near the counselor offices are rude and disrespectful and I had difficulty communicating with some of the teachers because they would not return calls. They have failed to meet standards and students are offerred to go to Lassiter or Sprayberry. This is so scary!!!

I have 2 kids in the school and I have no complaints with it. A few problems with unruly students here and there but they are quick to get rid of them. The Principal seems a bit withdrawn but the Vice Principals and counselors are excellent. My son is in ROTC and my daughter is in several things including orchestra. They have many extra cirricular activites there and some great teachers including Mr Sager who is a recognized national expert is his field. My biggest gripe with the school is the bus where there is often trouble and a lack of discipline. The school is fine for your kids but if you can, drive them to school.

Hello. My name is Shaunika T. I think Pebblebrook is a very good school.I graduated in 2004. It was my best year. Everyone offered a helping hand to get me in college.During my years at Pebblebrook I did and join almost most everything your average female would not join. I played golf for 3 yrs , drum section 2yrs, colorguard/dance team 1yr, FCCLA 4 yrs,21st Century Leaders of America 4yrs, Who's Who 4yrs, National Honor Roll 4 yrs, Spainsh Club 1yr, and i also enjoyed help with the after school programs at the elementary schools near pebblebrook. I would encourage any one who want to have anything to do with PA go to pebblebrook. They have some of the best teachers in the Spainsh Department.(Mrs. Geano) and in all Departments. More parents sould be involved in the school and not just in the sports.PHS is the Best Cobb County High School.

I am a 2004 graduate of Pebblebrook high school and I can truly say that Pebblebrook is a wonderful school. Yes, it has its flaws but just like any other school in Cobb County. I would reccomend to anybody to attend this great school because of its diversity, it is the most diverse school in Cobb. Being a graduate of Pebblebrook I believe that those four years prepared me for collge life here at Florida A&M university, it better prepared me to navigate this strenuous schedule. While I was at the Brook I was in the the section leader of the percussion section (DA HEAT)and serve on student leadership team for three years. I was also president of Future Business Leaders of America. Pebblebrook has alot to offer to the students it's just up to them to take advantage of it.

My oldest child graduated from Pebblebrook in 2003, and I have vowed that Pebblebrook would not get ahold of my other two kids. The principal, Mr. Bynum was not cooperative. He was very, very slow in responding to requests and returning phone calls. I agree with the other reviews that sports and the performing arts program were what this school is most interested in. New blood is needed and it should start from the top.

I moved here from another state hopeing that my child would get a hope grant, and have a better education than I did, but after 6 months I realized that the only thing the school really care about is keeping a basketball or football in our kids hand, most or not ready for the real world and the school still treat the students as if there in the 3rd grade!!no wonder Georgia is 50th in the country to educate our children.. The hope grant is not worth the price of my child future--i'm moving back West with my family.

pebblebrook can be a very good school if the principal focused on more than just the Performing Arts students. those are the only kids that they really look out for and nothing else. The principal never shows up for anything unless it deals with them. Pebblebrook has the best band now and are on top. They need to focus more on academics then what there doing. I've been attending pebblebrook for 3 years so far.

My name is Khari M. I think Pebblebrook HS is one of the best schools in Cobb County. Most of the teachers really care about the students. In the classroom, sports, music, and the other arts, the students have a very high standard. I think even the teachers go above and beyond to try to bring out the best in there students. It is not perfect but it is a model for all schools to go learn from. BeatBoxBoy-

I am a sophmore at Pebblebrook High School. I really enjoy being apart of the Preforming Arts Program as a Vocal major and Drama minor. I have wonderful teachers who take the time to interact with me and let me know how I'm doing. Everything I learn is applied in some way to real life, and the teachers have shown me that also.

We appreciate all the feed back but reality sets in now. Parents are you able to visit you childs class unannounced? Do you feel the principal is accessible? Have you had a complaint and needed feed back and received it? What about the zero tolerance for Cobb Co schools? Have you checked your tax bill lately to see what percentage is disbursed to your local school? If your child is fortunate to be in Performing Arts of course this is the place to be. But the reality the majority of the school is African Americans not in the program. So what is offered to these students. Hard times, no encouragement but discouragement. We need more parent involvement. So lets get involved and take back our school in our community. Have you tried attending a board meeting at the County office? Designed so the working people can't attend.

I'm a 2004 graduate of Pebblebrook and throughout my 4 years there,I've had so many wonderful opportunities. I was involved in the Performing Arts program there and wow,if your son or daughter wants to go to a magnet program, this is the one! The training there is so amazing! It's worth it. They also have a great faculty there who cares about the students.

I'm a Pebblebrook alumni, class of 2002, and I loved this school! Because of the diversity of ethnicity, there where hardly any 'clicks,' compared to other high schools where it's almost purely one color, and pure clicks. I thank God I didn't go to one of those. I was in the Performing Arts Program (CCCEPA - Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts), and I wouldn't have attended any other magnet school. It amazed me how many renowned arts colleges visited and admired the caliber of performers that graduate from Pebblebrook. If you're a parent or student looking for a magnet school to attend, this is the one. Drama, Dance, or Vocal...it's just awesome! Go to www.cccepa.com to see what I'm talking about! B.Hutchins '02

I am a current student at Pebblebrook. Pebblebrook is a excellent school it teaches the student the 'real world' of diversity and provides a excellent education from award winning teachers. Pebblebrook also offers a focus area in the performing arts. Pebblebrook is also a school of excellence in Cobb County. And our principal Dr. Randy Bynum does a great job as principal. Thank J. Robinson Class of 2005

Pebblebrook is a great school! I'm a former student who has a younger sibling attending the school presently. I do feel, however, that the acting principal does not care about the students needs!
