Atlanta Girls School Reviews

This is my first year at AGS and it is the best choice I have ever made!!! I have become way more confident and answer in class alot more. The extra curricular activities are great and the teachers are wonderful and very helpful. Plus we get to have laptops and now in the 8th grade we get to have I pod touches. Hands down this is an awsome school.

AGS is a great school. It has allowed my daughter to be a big fish in a small pond as opposed to a small fish in a big pond. She is very active as a chorus member; basketball player; softball player; student ambassador; tech club member and the list goes on and on. She is only in 8th grade! WOW! Their technology program is outstanding. As with all private schools, tuition can be a bit challenging, but AGS does offer financial aid to MOST qualified applicants. Join us! It's the best!

AGS is an awsome school! there are alot of sports and you have laptops how awsome is that! who cares if there are boys it is a girl shool it is the best school you will ever go to! :-)

As a parent this school is too expensive. The educational experience is good but its not worth the tuition. Im becoming a little hesitant to send my daughter here next year. They should consider decreasing the tuition if they want to reach their goal of 300 students. To reach that goal- decrease the tuition by half and u get double the students!

I am currently a student at AGS. Over all, I love it but it's challenging. The teachers are awesome but you do get in trouble for things I personally think are not worth getting in trouble for. I still love it!!!!! :-)

yea the school rocks but the uniform policies are strict so are the technology uses -everyone has a laptop- i love it .no i like it a lot but this isn't the site where i can bash all i want so i guess you just won't get to here the negative even if it's about some teachers!

AGS is a underappreciated gem in Atlanta. We have extensive experience with private and public schools, and I can confidently say AGS is on par with the best. We couldn't be more pleased with the teachers, athletics, scholarship and, of course, the students.

The Atlanta Girls' School far exceeded our expectations. Our daughter was there from 6th through 12th grade and it was well worth the investment! Having begun her Freshman year of college just a couple of weeks ago, our daughter's positive self-image has allowed us to only moderately assist, facilitate and oversee (mostly due to our desire to still feel needed and not wanting to let go) her affairs on campus because she is focused on her goals and determined to make her mark on humanity - she knows her possibilities are endless as she embraces the world during this next phase of her life... To the Leadership, Faculty and Staff: Thank You!!! The academic, social and psychological foundation you ve laid at the Girls School along with our vision for her is proving to have been a successful partnership!!!!!!!!!

The Atlanta Girls' School has been a great experience for my child. Along with becoming more outgoing she has a better image of herself. They put so much effort into making their students feel safe. I have found in my experience that most girls will try to look, for lack of a better word, dumber so they can keep their 'cute' factor. The AGS environment does take some adjusting to for those who aren't ready for the envirnment. I have also come to the conclusion that the girls who don't like it there are and I'm quoting my girl 'so difficult to deal with, and the efoorts to discipline students goes unnoticed. Every grade has someone who refuses to listen to authority, but AGS is still great' This sort of school doesn't come around very often so take advantage of the opportunnity and send you child to this school

The Atlanta Girls' School is absolutely the best school for a young girl. My daughter has been there since six grade, and we have absolutely loved it. Most schools speak of diversity, but AGS, does it like no other. Because of the small class sizes, the girls really get to appreciate and know different cultures that they might not otherwise experience. I think the biggest mistake people make is leaving to soon, before giving it a chance. If you do your research you'll understand why a single gender education is great for our daughters. If I had to do it all over, it would definitely be AGS.

AGS has some of the typical problems found in a new school. They are still finding their way. When compared to other private schools in Atlanta, a local magazine gave AGS very high marks for its science and math courses. However, we have been disappointed with the quality of some of the teachers. In AGS' defense, poor teachers don't generally get asked back. Parent involvement is high and enthusiastic. I am not worried about lack of 'real world' experience (no boys) as there is plenty of time for that after high school. My daughter's (she started in 9th) confidence has grown and she readily speaks up in all of her classes, something she was hesitant to do in her previous co-ed school. This is not an 'easy' curriculum so be prepared. Seniors this year have been accepted at Columbia, UVA, etc. Not bad for such a young school.

The academics are outstanding and the Headmaster exemplifies the most professional outstanding leadership, however discipline is lacking and opertunities to build a community are few because the student body is so spread out. We are sorry about our choice and hope that thing improve.

Only in existence for 7 years this school is outstanding. Wireless laptops for each girl; strong & competitive athletic program; wonderful Fine Arts offerings; strong academics - science & math; welcoming and supportive faculty.

I first began AGS with the feeling that I would enjoy this school, however, this proved wrong.I have been to gender seperated schools before, and they have all been a good learning experience.I have given this school a chance, but am glad to say I won't be coming here next year. (run while you can)

The Atlanta Girls' school is a great place for young girls to express themselves freely. There are many great extracurricular activities. Every girl can play any sport no matter how experienced. As girls grow older I think being in a co-ed environment helps better prepare them for real world experiences. My daughter only attended AGS for 3 years (6-8), but those 3 years helped give her the confidence she needed to be in a co-ed environment for her high school journey. The academic programs at AGS are growing rapidly and are of excellent quality (both middle school and high school). The one thing I love and will miss most about AGS is the level of parent involvement. The amount of parent volunteers and support is wonderful. I would highly recommend the Atlanta Girls' School to anyone who wants their daughter to have an educational and confidence building middle school experience.
