What could be better than pigging out on pancakes? How about setting a world record at the same time during the Batter Blaster’s attempt for “Most Pancakes Cooked in 8 Hours.”
Whether they set the record or not, it’s bound to be delicious!
Giant pancake breakfasts have been rousing successes in other cities. It will be Atlanta’s turn to taste the syrupy sweet life from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Olympic Park.
Company leaders at Batter Blaster — a canned pancake and waffle mix — decided Atlanta was the perfect platform to stage its world-record attempt.
The Kiwanis Club of Fargo, N.D., set a record for biggest pancake breakfast in 2008. The club served 34,818 pancakes to over 10,000 guests in just eight hours. This year the Lions Club in Lubbock, Texas, served 66, 549 pancakes to 17,000 people in an attempt to break the Kiwanis Club record (though that attempt has not been certified by the staff at Guinness World Record.)
Either way, Batter Blaster believes it can have the secret for breaking any record: its pressurized can.
Batter Blaster was launched in 2007 after San Francisco restaurateur Sean O’Conner realized he had found a way to put organic pancake and waffle mix into a pressurized can for a delicious, easy-to-make product.
Company leaders hope their tasty pancakes will draw in hungry crowds, and that their simplified processes will allows volunteers to crank out thousands of pancakes fast enough to break the record.
Many Atlantans have already taken to Batter Blaster, and the company says holding the event in the city was a way to say thank you. Best of all, attendees eat free!
