A gem in Atlanta with a delicious menu and exceptional service

I had the pleasure of eating at this retaurant over the summer of 2008. I arrived with my wife and three kids to find that the restaurant was closed for lunch despite what the internet said. As I was walking away disappointed, the owner stepped out of the restaurant to welcome us back. She explained that the restaurant hours had changed but didn't want us to leave disappointed. She just happened to be there completing some paperwork. Well, she rolled out the red carpet and treated us like we were her own family members. She brought out a big plate of the finest Ethiopian meal I have ever had. I have been a frequent connoisseur of Ethiopian food in DC and NYC. This ranked as good as I had in any of those other cities. Everything was tasty and had the distinct flavors I expect from an authentic restaurant. The service was impeccable. Before leaving, we took some pictures with her and talked for about half an hour. We are looking forward to the next time we visit Atlanta to return to this gem. We would have given them a 5 star but had to take off 1 star for decor. Despite the decor, we highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Excellent service and exceptional Ethiopian food

Cons: Decor

great customer service, attention to guest needs

I never had this type of food prior to this, I had told the waitress that I did not know what to order and she was great with taking charge and bringing out different things for me to try. The people were friendly and the food was good, I will be back as this was a real treat.

Delicious authentic Ethiopian

I have eaten at many Ethiopian restaurants in Manhattan, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C., and this one ranks among my favorites. Martha, the owner and cook, is really friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic (the Doro Wott is a particular must-try). Don't forget to order a bottle of Tej (honey wine), which is the perfect accompaniment to the spices of Ethiopian cuisine. Prices are extremely reasonable, as well. I thought Enat was much better than Queen of Sheba.

Pros: Food is delicious, Martha offers personalized service

Cons: Ambience could be better
