Lisa is most often our service advisor, but anytime we are served by any other advisor, we are treated the same way, like family. I tell my Volkswagen friends that the very best way to take care of their cars is Jim Ellis service. We have bought ten Volkswagens from Jim Ellis since 1980. We have another one ordered now, a 2010 Golf. Kendall Lockerman

I have had 3 VWs. Jetta, Passat and now another Jetta. I love my VW. This time, however, I think I am just wearing this one out. I have had more than 3 issues in 2 years. The truck wouldnt shut and needed a part, the windows wouldnt roll up, and the lighter got a dime stuck and blew a fuse. Every time I took it to Jim Ellis in Atlanta, they took great care of me and had me driving home in hours. They give you quotes, work with you on what is urgent and what isn't. Most of all, they are just professional and honest. If you are looking to buy a VW, I say go for it....for over 14 years I have been happy.. low to maintain, gas efficient, and have all the goodies!
Pros: Great location! Professional, fast, and affordable!
Cons: What is worse than having car problems to fix?

sorry, I meant to review the Cobb parkway one! But they both are owned by Jim Ellis! I took in my 2007 Jetta with 29000 miles on it that I had recently bought because it wasn't shifting smoothly. They to me that it was due to the motor mount that was (partially) broken. They called me and said come and look at it if you want, becasue it won't be covered under warranty. I took a mechanic with me who knew more about cars then me, we both noticed that the partially broken mount was not now completely brokene, and said it won't be covered under warranty when I questioned it, because I saw the new broken piece, they said they would fix it under warranty. When I went to pick up the car, they said we didn't do it under warranty, we did it in goodwill...like dealers know what goodwill is!!! Plus they never gave me the broken motor mount, I wonder why?! They day I was suppose to pick up my car, they told me my fan wasn't working either and that I couldn't drive for longer than a mile before my engine would heat up. Well I drove it 7 miles to my mechanic's shop and by the time I got there the fan was turned on. They are that dumb/rip off that they didn't wait for the car temperature to reach 190 in order for the fan to turn on. I also asked them to fix the window that was under warranty, which they didn't do...OOPS, they forgot..... They're nice to you while you get a service from them, even though I got a tuneup from them!!! but they run up your bill....I know their shop is empty due to bad economy, but this doesn't give them right to rip off and lie to people....Worst service, If you go for problems with your car that are under warranty, they make sure to find pr make problems that are not under warranty. Their technicians are clueless or maybe they act like they are. STAY AWAY, I went in driving my car, and they told me that I have to either tow it out of there or give them $950 to fix it! If you have to drive far to another dealership, do it, it's worth it!
Pros: Location
Cons: Rude customer rep., liars, clueless technicians, Rip off Management

My experience at Jim Ellis' service department was awful. I took my 2003 Jetta in for a flashing engine light, which my manual says is a catalytic converter problem. I am still under an extended bumper to bumper warranty. Jim Ellis' service reps told me it was worn spark plugs, and that they weren't covered under the warranty. When I explained that the spark plug problem seemed odd, since the problem came on all of the sudden, he insisted that that was the problem. When I asked if he would waive the diagnostic fee (which I've never had to pay before in the five times my lousy car has been in the shop) because of all of the problems I have had with the car and to keep me coming back, he stated that Mr. Ellis was only interested in making a profit. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, he said that he'd been working there 6 years and knew what he was doing, and that his supervisor would only say the same thing. I had to ask 3 times to speak with his boss. When I suggested he was being rude, he said "If you consider matter-of-fact rude, then I guess so." His supervisor was no better--she only rationalized his behavior and said that I must have a personality conflict with him, that she could set me up next time with someone else.
It wasn't even about the fifty bucks--I was treated like garbage at Jim Ellis. I was even told by the head manager later that even if it wasn't my spark plugs, they would continue to charge me for repairs until they narrowed the problem down to one covered under my warranty. What a racket! Go anywhere else!
