Fused combines eclectic atmosphere, gourmet food
Jul 8, 2009
It may be a relatively new addition to the historic Canton Street corridor in Roswell, yet Fused Bar and Restaurant is fast becoming the place to watch the game and have some fun. Come hungry, because this is the best bar food you’ve ever had!
Family-owned Fused, which took the place of Magnolia, is a mishmash of styles, design and even construction materials. A gorgeous stained cherry bar hovers over an unfinished concrete floor; cool industrial tin covers only part of the ceiling; antique décor and exposed brick meets modern lighting and flat screen televisions. But somehow it works overall in a laidback kind of way.
The bar and restaurant is poised to become a popular spot to watch the game since there are three flat screens throughout to make sure you don’t miss a second of the action, whether its NFL, MLB or NBA. And when the college football season starts, expect crowds to gather at Fused.
But if sports are not really your thing, maybe testing your knowledge is. Don’t just watch; get in on the action during weekly trivia nights (Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.). First, second and third place winners take home prizes!
And in order to supply all that brainpower, the bar keeps a diverse selection of liquors, beers and wines in stock to satiate a range of tastes. Fused even hopes to host beer tasting events soon! Check their facebook.com and Twitter updates for drink specials!
Not a drinker? Don’t worry the food – and a non-alcoholic drink – can be enjoyed regardless.
Start your lunch, dinner or late night snack with some red pepper hummus ($5.95), oysters (covered in crab, shrimp, spinach and cream cheese, $10.95), or even popcorn (seasoned, $3.95).
Try the Thai Chicken Pizza ($9.95) for lunch or a cup of the Chicken Pablano soup ($3.75) as a snack.
Sandwiches and sliders like the pimento cheese sandwich ($6.45), the Slaw Dog (a Nathan’s hot dog topped with jalapeno cole slaw, $4.45), the Philly steak sliders (2 for $6.95 or 3 for $8.95) and the Hawaiian sliders (2 for $6.95 or 3 for $8.95) are always crowd pleasers.
