Ceviche Taqueria & Margarita Bar will have you saying olé!

Jun 13, 2009

Next time you’re in the mood for Mexican food, skip the neighborhood strip mall eatery and head to Ceviche Taqueria & Margarita Bar in historic Roswell — it’s authentically hard to resist!

Located in the middle of Roswell’s historic district, among the antique shops and picturesque boutiques, is a little piece of Mexico with just enough small-town charm to feel right at home in the South. Ceviche is a vacation from the everyday that you can whenever you feel like getting away.

Without being stuffy or over-the-top, this small family-owned restaurant on Canton Street still manages to pull off a stylish atmosphere with natural lighting; café-style seating; colorful décor; trendy bar; and flat screen TV's. It inspires casual relaxation with enough flair to deny the mundane: No superiority complex here, just great atmosphere.

But you can't think about Mexico without thinking about its delicious food. The eatery's namesake, ceviche, is a seafood appetizer in which fish or shellfish are marinated in citrus juices rather than cooked.

Seafood not your thing, or wary of ceviche? Don't worry: Ceviche's menu boasts plenty of other tasty options. The menu offers authentic Mexican dishes in a way that won’t scare off those without extremely foreign tastes.

Start your meal off right with “Trio Ceviche,” with shrimp, grouper and octopus ($12.95). The freshly prepared guacamole ($5.95) and cheesy chimichangas ($8.95) also make great choices. Ceviche's famous Elsa’s Chicken Enchiladas Verde ($8.95) are named after a beloved former chef.

If you're not in the mood for food, the bar serves up a variety of exotic drinks alongside domestic beers and spirits. Among the favorites are Ceviche's famous margaritas, of which there are 13 varieties, as well as a large selection Mexican beers. Pomegranate margarita on the rocks, anyone?

And as always, enjoy heaps of warm tortilla chips with fresh salsa. Both are prepared on-site daily.
