Andretti Indoor Karting & Games: edge of your seat thrills
Published: Mar 8, 2009
Racing fans will tell you that there's nothing quite like the roar of an engine to get the blood pumping. Now imagine being the one in the driver's seat! Fasten your seat belt: Any time spent at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is going to be a thrilling ride.
Even since the automobile was invented, people were fascinated with speed. The Andretti family has taken that fascination to the extreme as one of the premier racing families in history. During 2005, they decided to pass the addiction on to the fans by reopening the Andretti Indoor Karting & Games (formerly Andretti Speed Lab) in Roswell, Ga.
The result was entertainment as a sensory experience.
This is not your typical arcade, with pinball machines and Pacman. That much is obvious from the moment you step through the front door to the dull roar of engines and the vibrations of horsepower coming from inside the large building.
Here you'll find the opportunity to test your own speedster skills on not one, but two professionally designed indoor race tracks. Powerful super carts can be reserved to racing (by licensed drivers, only after they have properly suited up and taken a crash course in the logistics of racing.)
If actual racing isn't up your alley, don't worry, Andretti's still has plenty to do. There are more than $2 million in state-of-the-art simulated race games, as well as other sports-related gaming systems and billiards available to all. And don't forget to check out the extreme sports section, where you can attempt a seven-position ropes course or the 30-foot rock wall.
Eythl's Diner and the Adrenaline Sky Bar have plenty of delicious American cuisine and drinks (including wine from Mario Andretti's Napa Valley vineyard) for the famished and parched.
Private rooms are available for corporate meetings, birthdays and other events.
