Imagine It! Children's Museum of Atlanta sparks childhood wonder!

Jul 14, 2009

As a child, you can do anything, be anything, go anywhere – all it takes is a little imagination and some help from the Imagine It! Children’s Museum of Atlanta. The children in your life will beg to go back before you ever leave the parking lot!

Studies show that the fascination and wonder of childhood is critical in development and should be nurtured from an early age. Theories on the importance of play and the break down of learning styles have been examined for decades, so it makes sense that Imagine It! facilitates education and fun all at once. It’s a dream environment for both children and their parents!

The museum features five year-round exhibits, which include: Fundamentally Food, Crawl Space, Leap into Learning, Let your Creativity Flow and Tools for Solutions.

In “Fundamentally Food,” kids see first hand the journey taken by the food they love – from farm to table. They can climb a John Deere tractor, operate a warehouse fork lift and pretend to prepare a meal in the kitchen.

“Crawl Space” is specifically designed for toddlers. It’s the perfectly padded jungle gym for the under two set.

At “Leap into Learning” children are given raincoats and free reign of an educational forest where they can go fishing, climb through tree houses and explore a waterfall.

Let your “Creativity Flow” is everything they ever dreamed of doing, but aren’t allowed at home. Imaginations can run wild while they paint a wall and build sandcastles, dress up, jump on stage or make music!

Finally, “Tools for Solutions” lets children problem solve on their own using a set of six simple machines for lifting, hoisting and moving things.

The museum also plays host to several different special exhibits throughout the year, such as the “Exploring Trees Inside and Out” and “Curious George: Let’s Get Curious” exhibits (until 9/13/09 and 1/24/10, respectively).

And throughout the year, Imagine It! offers several different programs so there is sure to be something that interests everyone whether you are a Girl Scout, a home schooled student or love performance theater.

Children’s parties and events may be booked and memberships are available at Imagine It!
